Midlife Crisis LB Dunbar
Reviewed by Jacqui
LB Dunbar you have done it again! You have given us a story that speaks to so many readers. A story that is not about twentysomethings who have perfect lives. This is a story about finding love again after 40. If you read her previous book, After Care, you already have a taste of what is to come. Mature characters with mature problems. As a mature reader, I devoured this story.
Hank Paige is a former rockstar with a rockstar past. Working for his brother in the family car restoration business has him wanting to find that one person. He’s been in love before, but this feels different. It feels real and reciprocated.
Midge Everette is a divorcee with three boys. Since her husband left her for a younger woman, she was convinced that she would never find anyone else. Then she meets Hank and he makes her feel like the most desirable woman in the world.
So there story begins. You get some more of Edie and Tommy as well as Ivy and Gage. We also get to meet some new characters which has me excited for what LB Dunbar has up her sleeve. Keep bringing us stories with real life problems and characters over 40. I’m fiftysomething and I love that these stories show that passion and fun isn’t just for the younger crowd. I look at my silver headed husband and think damn, how did I get so lucky. LB Dunbar, you’ve had me as a fan from the beginning. I don’t see that ending anytime soon. Thank you for this amazing story.
A sexy silver fox might be the perfect solution to a midlife crisis.

Another romance for the over 40

Midlife Crisis LB Dunbar
I’m forty-one today.
It’s my birthday,
And I’m crying over burnt toast.
That’s not some euphemism.
Literally, I’m sobbing over stupid bread,
so I call a crisis center.
I just need someone to talk to about life.
Only I recognize the smoky voice of the man on the line.
In the name of all things, don’t let it be…
As a former rock star,
I once had it all.
Fame. Fortune. Females.
Except for the one thing I wanted most.
Now, I fix cars and restore other people’s dreams.
I just want to be somebody’s someone.
And there’s a certain woman with captivating eyes,
I want to fulfill my dreams.
For the love of all things, please let it be her…
In the midst of questioning everything,
could love be the resolution to a midlife crisis?
