Just so you know, Ghost Girl is the first book in this series and needs to be read first.
If ten stars were possible, this book would definitely deserve it. As it was said in the book, “Everything is a journey, a wild ride with constant surprises.” This story was a journey through wanting to save the one you love no matter what it means to you. A story with surprises that will make you cheer and then cry, but a good cry.
When Milo and Mercy head to Mexico, they think it will only be for a short time. But revenge is the only thing Milo sees. Finding the one who held Mercy captive for so long and getting justice for Mercy. The only problem is that Mercy has gone from one prison to another. Stuck in the compound of El Jefe, Milo’s father, Mercy wants to know where Milo goes every night. When she follows him one night, things go wrong immediately. Now Milo is in a race against time to find Mercy. Knowing his father does not approve, Milo goes against the demands of his father to find Mercy and it could mean his life in the LS. The LS hold onto his every move and he is willing to risk it all to let Mercy have a normal life. But a life that may not include him.
I can barely put into words the way I feel after reading this book. Mercy and Milo are characters so incredibly written you get lost easily lost in the story. At one point I felt like I was right there along with Milo and looking for Mercy. I was so caught up in the passion the two have for each other because the writing makes you feel that. The ending pulled at my heart and I wanted to slow down reading to make it last. But it had to end and there is no other way I would want to see the ending. It completely fits the characters of Mercy and Milo.
JB Salsbury, once again I am in awe of you and your talent for telling a story. Don’t stop doing what you do best. Thank you for bringing us Mercy and Milo and their beautiful story.
Synopsis
Milo sold his soul to the devil to save an angel.
Now he’s after revenge.
There are worse prisons than the lush estate of a notorious drug smuggler in Mexico. Mercy lives out her days alone and hidden from the world, but her sleep is riddled with nightmares of the muti and all the boys and girls just like her who weren’t lucky enough to get away.
If the people who kept her as a child are in Mexico, is it possible she could find them?
What starts as vigilante justice unravels a web of human trafficking deeper and darker than Milo and Mercy could’ve imagined. When she comes face-to-face with the people she once considered family, she proves she is far from the Angel they raised her to be.
