Jennifer Lucia has a new fan. This is my first read from her and I look forward to more from her. Winter Heat revolves around a criminal defense attorney Kelsey Jones whose life has been turned upside down by criminal who has pledged revenge for her role in him going to prison. Now the US Marshall office has sent in their best marshall, Liam Sullivan. No longer is Kelsey living her life as she planned. Suddenly she is Agnes, visiting a small town in New Hampshire with her “husband” Amos/Liam. Keeping a low profile isn’t easy when you are holed up in a small cabin with a gorgeous man who values his job. She needs to get out and away from the sexual tension that comes from living with Liam. But being exposed could threaten the life of everyone she loves, including Liam. When the chemistry between the two becomes too much, both of them ditch the rules and give into their desires.
Jennifer Lucia does an amazing job of slowly building up the relationship between Liam and Kelsey. But when it does happen, you can’t help but get caught up in their romance. When I started reading, I thought I had the ending figured out but Jennifer Lucia didn’t go the route I thought. It wasn’t predictable. I like that in a story. Jennifer Lucia grew up on Long Island, New York in a family of six. Ever since she learned how to read, she’s read anything she could get her hands on. She started reading romance novels when she came across a bodice ripper at a thrift store, and found that she couldn’t get enough. Fifteen years later, she’s still an avid romance reader- and now is adding her own voice to the mix.
Jennifer loves traveling and is a little obsessed with theme parks. She has a goal of going to every theme and amusement park in the United States eventually. Before she picked up a pen, she worked a myriad of odd jobs, including retail, lifeguarding, tutoring, waitressing, and bartending.
