Gemma is ready to find Mr. Right. At 25 she wants to have the loving, attentive boyfriend that every girl wants. But when she resorts, once again, to using the “I’m on my period” excuse to deflect a bad date, she is convinced Manhattan isn’t the place to find her Prince Charming. But who says Prince Charming can’t wear glasses and be a nerdy tech guru?
Oliver is that nerdy tech guru. When he catches Gemma using her excuse he is enchanted by the beautiful fashion editor. But he doesn’t do relationships. So when they meet again at a not so trendy brunch spot, the rest of their day is spent in her bed. So begins their no-commitment, sex only relationship. Oliver is there for her to pick up after the bad dates and Gemma actually finds someone who can give her an orgasm.
This was a great book. The banter and fun relationship that was created for these two made me laugh. Gemma speaks it like it is and Oliver isn’t afraid to give it right back. I was laughing at then end over their discussion of how to use a bar of soap while she was in the shower. This is true love and the start of a great relationship. When you can talk about weird things like this, you have found your Prince Charming. Thank you Carrie Aarons for a fun read!
Synopsis
You know how Cinderella had the whole glass slipper, pumpkin carriage, fairy godmother thing?
Yeah…with foot-destroying stilettos, Uber, and a Twitter horoscope, my life is far from a happily ever after.
In fact, instead of Prince Charming, I end up dating every slimy, scaly, brainless frog in the kingdom of Manhattan. And by frog, I mean all of the stereotypical bad guys that Mom and Lifetime movies warned you about.
The meathead player.
The mommy’s boy.
The namedropper.
The cheapskate.
If they suck at relationships, I’ve probably kissed those cold, clammy lips in the hopes of finding love. Until one day, when one man with commitment issues offers to help me find the Romeo to my Juliet.
But what happens when the frog, who was never supposed to turn into a prince, kisses you at midnight? Ok fine, he propositioned me for some afternoon delight after brunch, but not everything can be straight out of a fairytale.
