Zac McBain is on a mission to a place that doesn’t exist – a place that disappeared thousands of years ago. The source of the Specus Argentum–the only silver that can harm the Cruors, is sought by not only Zac and the Ancients, but Dac Valerian as well.
Hidden deep in the rainforests of Honduras, the present day town of La Nahuaterique, Faith Hannah is on a mission, both humanitarian and personal. Her medical mission is prompted by her wish to escape the problems that assail her in London. She never expected to be kidnapped and discover a whole supernatural world around her own–and she certainly didn’t expect to feel such a sudden, intense need and longing for one of them.
As soon as Zac sees Faith deep in the woods, he’s lost to her. In the middle of a hard fought battle for the Specus Argentum, the passion fate has decreed between Zac and Faith begins to consume them.
But the impending war between the Cynn Cruor and Scatha Cruor comes to a head. Secrets are unearthed, loyalties are doubted… and love must struggle to prevail.

EXCERPT

“Return to your brother, Xavier. Watch over him while I take care of the Señorita.”
Xavier didn’t even nod. He just left. Zac gently lay her down on the cot easing his arm out from underneath her shoulder blades and the back of her knees. With the flickering light from the scone on the wall, Zac looked at her face in repose. Long lashes lay delicately like curtains over her cheekbones. Shadows danced across her oval face, her exotic cheekbones, her nose, her kissable mouth slightly parted with her breathing. Zac closed his eyes gently entering her mind searching for her name. Who was she? She didn’t look as though she was from the area. Faith Hannah. She wasn’t from here. Zac’s was having a hard time reading her mind. His face scrunched at the effort. Talk about running on the dregs of empty.
“Just a little more,” he muttered. There. He found what he was looking for.
She had indeed been kidnapped. Her memories flooded his mind. A medical mission. Sudden wealth.
Betrayal.
His weakened state broke the connection. He needed the serum. Fast.
Zac was about to stand when he froze midway. Faith snuggled more to him and placed her arms around his neck.
“Stay with me,” she whispered.
Had she awakened? Her lids remained shut, her eyes moving underneath. She was dreaming. Invading a person’s dreams was something the Cynn Cruors could do the same way that they could read people’s minds. Zac had broken his connection with Faith to husband his strength. Besides, intruding into someone’s dreams wasn’t something he cared for. But now that she was dreaming of someone, jealousy hit like a brick thrown against his chest, and he would have given anything to know who he was. He couldn’t take advantage of her. He wouldn’t take advantage of her even if what he wanted to do was to kiss her senseless, bury his face between her thighs and lick her dry.
He gently pulled her arms away from his neck.
She stopped him. “Kiss me.”

Isobelle is intrigued by forces that simmer beneath the surface of these cultures, the hidden passions, unsaid desires, and yearnings unfulfilled.
