I loved this book! I loved the way the story flowed and the chemistry of the characters. Evan is the Worlds Sexiest Bachelor and wants to escape from his very public life. He drives until he ends up on Perry Island, a small coastal town where he changes his name to Jay. Living in a trailer on the beach is exactly what he needs. Then he meets Haven Owens, the daughter of the store owner on Perry Island. She wants to write songs and get off of Perry Island. She hires Evan/Jay to work at her father’s store not knowing who he really is. Their relationship takes off from there until his world finds him. The story kept me reading and not in a hurry to find out what eventually happens. I liked the way character worked through their relationship and how the story ended. This was a refreshing take on Hollywood guy meets small town girl story.
BOOK SUMMARY:
Power. Money. Control. Love.
He has all but one.
When movie star, Evan Carlson, discovers his girlfriend’s picture with another man splashed on the cover of gossip magazines, he decides he’s had enough of his fishbowl life and attempts to outrun the media frenzy his relationships have become. Driving until the road stops, he ends up on the remote and quaint Perry Island, where a heartthrob can blend in like the locals and be a beach bum as long as he wants. All that changes when Evan meets Haven Owen, aspiring songwriter and the girl he just can’t get enough of. A summer romance turns into something much deeper and Evan gets tangled in his own web of lies to keep Haven in his life. But when his ex tracks him down, Evan learns there are some things you just can’t outrun.
Is the cost of love, losing all control?
