Excerpt from Chapter 1.
Subject to Change.
Unedited. © 2016 Lyra Parish.
Tonight I would fuck the blonde in the front row who continued to visually rip my clothes off with every little blink she took. Her tits were hanging out of her shirt and she licked her lips and batted her eyes at me. The set was nearing the end and I could feel her gaze. When I looked away and back at her, it was like her eyes had never left me. I liked when a woman knew what she wanted.

Blue and green lights flashed over the stage then washed across the crowd. When we made eye contact again, her tongue traced the outside of her plump bottom lip and at that moment I knew she was DTF. Her being down to fuck made this so much easier but then again, being the lead singer of the Band of Brothers made panties magically melt. I’d be her fantasy for the night. I’m sure there would be many more one night stands considering each show from Florida to New York, all the way to California was sold out.

The drums beat on as I screamed out the next few lyrics. “I won’t let the world decide. I’ll die before that happens.”

The drums stopped and the distortion was cut leaving a melodic strum of Nikolas’s guitar.

The lights faded when walked off stage leaving the crowd screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Jex, Nic, and Rex had huge smiles covering their faces as they chugged the water the technicians handed us. This would never get old. Moments like this were the ones we lived and worked for. Once the chanting and clapping rose to the maximum volume, the four of us walked back onstage and gave the fans what they wanted, an encore.

Green and yellow lights flashed over the crowd and smoke hovered at the bottom of the stage. We played three more songs. People sang and swayed to the lyrics and music. Some jumped up and down, feeling the full beat of the drums while others banged their heads. The feeling of having thousands of people chanting my words would never become real. More often than not, I felt like I was in a dream, one that I never wanted to wake from.

During the last song, I pointed to the blonde. By the way she was dressed in a tight pink shirt and a skirt that showed the bottom of her ass cheeks, I knew she wanted to be seen. She could have possibly had this night planned from the beginning. Randomly, I chose a few others from the crowd to join us, to dance in front of our audience, to feel the temporary power. It was something I did every show, every tour. It was a habit of sorts.

Security helped the girls climb on the stage and they lifted their arms and shook their asses. Before the song ended, the technicians led the girls’ side stage as cannons of small fireworks shot from the floor. After the final song, my brothers and played the crowd and threw drumsticks and guitar picks. The yelling didn’t stop for minutes and the audience realized we weren’t coming back out. I walked side stage where girls anxiously waited us. I smiled, popping an eyebrow at my chosen woman for the night, and she instantly came to me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hers hung on my waist. My brothers stopped in the green room with the other girls, but Blondie and I walked to the bus.

“I’m Lindsey,” she whispered in my ear before we reached the end of the hallway. I smiled at her and pushed open the exit door. Groupies and fans waited near the bus and as soon as we walked up they rushed it.

“I’ll be out in a bit,” I said, smiling at them with pearly whites. “My brothers are coming out that door over there. Really soon.”

I hated to out their exit strategy, but I wanted to take my time burying my dick deep inside Misty or Christy or whatever the fuck her name was. It didn’t matter. Names never did.

New Release + 5 Star ARC Review ✽ Paradise Fought: Abel (Paradise #1) by L.B. Dunbar

five gold starsParadise Fought: Abel (Paradise #1)

Arc received from author for honest review

Reviewed by Jacqueline

L.B. Dunbar has wowed our senses and then rocked us and now she is bringing us her newest series with some hot fighters. Abel is the first in her Paradise series and what a way to introduce us to it! Wow! It was hard not to fall in love with this book and the characters of Abel and Elma.

Both Abel and Elma have lived in the shadows of their brothers who are fighters and took care of them. When tragedy hits Elma and her family, it is up to her to be the responsible one and maybe find justice for her brother. Abel is tired of being told he is always the weaker son and decides to go and prove himself differently. Both coming from families of fighters, their paths cross and what starts out as a “tutoring” agreement, slowly turns into more.
I loved the chemistry created by L.B. Dunbar for these characters. There was tension, misunderstandings, raw emotions, and of course, amazing sex. So pretty much what anyone would expect from L.B. She has a way to make the reader relate to her characters and get emotionally involved in the story. If this book is an indication of how this series is going to be, I am staying for for the full count!! Thank you L.B. Dunbar once again! I can’t wait for Cain’s story!!

I’m not a fighter.
I was born into a fighting family. As the middle child, I was overlooked in favor of my older brother.
He took the negative attention, too. In comparison, there’s nothing special about me.
I’m not as big as Cobra. I’m not as strong as Cobra. He’s the alpha.
I’m a beta.
The second son.
The lesser one.
The one never encouraged to fight, never encouraged to do anything, but stay out of my father’s way.

I’m not a lover either – but I wished to be – that’s why I needed her.
I met a girl in the pouring rain.
Sounds cliché, but it’s true. It changed everything.
Because of love, I learned to fight.

Betas come second, but in this fight, my story is first.

He turned toward his rescuer. “Ah, the princess pretends to sleep.”

, seems I have to sleep light these days.” She released the hammer of her pistol and hung it on her brace. “I have a magical knight. Sometimes you see him, sometimes you don’t.”

“But you did not sleep. Why?”

“Because I could not with a man in my room.” She sounded irritated, like she really had sacrificed sleep.

“For some reason, I don’t believe that was the first time you’ve had a man in your room.” He didn’t know what made him say that, except seeing her in those formfitting clothes reminded him of every time he had stood too near to her, touched her, and had to deny his feelings of wanting her. The days and nights of watching her from afar, in Cadiz, on Donato’s ship, and now here, she was the most desirable woman he’d ever seen.

“I amend, señor.” This time the princess laughed. “The first time I had a strange man in my room who was not sharing my bed.”

“You’ve had men share your bed.” He stated rather than asked because he was curious, having suspected the woman was…experienced. But hearing her say it niggled beneath his skin with just a tiny nip of jealously. To sleep in her bed, how would a man earn that right?

A smile arrested her entire beautiful face. “Again, a position you’ll never enjoy.”

He stopped walking beside her. He shouldn’t care, and knowing the Roches like he did, why would he be in the least bit curious? “Because I’m an American and you’re royalty?”

She honored his halt with a spin of her own, facing him.

Capitán,” she began in that thick Spanish accent. “I could have any man I desire. I have been bedded by kings, princes, dukes, and marquises. Why would I choose a barbaric common American?”

Maybe it was her upturned face catching the moonlight that enticed him, or the slight curve to her lips that interested him, but it was the deep lust he saw in her eyes that made him reckless.

“Because you want to.” He snagged her wrist, twisted it behind her back and brought her flush against his chest. He could feel her breathing. Her breasts pushed against his body with every inhalation in an age-old rhythm. Her lips parted slightly. He caught the flicker of her tongue as she moistened her lips—anticipating.

ARC provided for honest review

I feel like I should write this review in the shadows. Confessing how much I love this woman and her dark twisted stories feels wrong, but oh so right. Add to this list Redeeming Rhys. This book will shock you to the core but be everything you expect from Mary Palmerin. I devoured every single page in one sitting.

Redeeming Rhys is a dark story with a character whose soul is blacker than black. His actions are not for the faint of heart.Things will shock you and make you stop for a moment. Despite all that, the brilliance of Mary Palmerin and her way to tell a story defies all of that. His story revolves around the one person that can save his soul and remind him he is not a bad boy. Wren holds the power over Rhys but their reunion is not a HEA. The end will having you shaking your head. Damn you (not really, I Love You) Mary Palmerin for once again drawing me into the dark side.

The hair rose on the back of his neck. He licked his lips and smirked. She was spying on him. Her silhouette outlined a second floor window. A slight breeze nudged the curtain now and then to reveal the color of her nightgown. It looked to be a pretty, pale pink or peach shade of satin and lace. He removed his hat and ran his fingers through his hair. Her name suited her. She was as elegant and graceful as a dancer he’d once seen.

Eryn had dragged him, kicking and screaming, to a play. The dancer’s arms and legs swayed with the music. The vision in his mind didn’t compare to Grace though. She was one of a kind. A woman way out of his league.

His bare feet sunk in the thick grass as he crossed the yard to sit on the bench in front of the barn. No doubt she was following him with her lovely blue eyes. He had moved into the living quarters above the garage. The heat in the small room was stifling. Way too many thoughts circled in his head, and he couldn’t get any sleep.

Babysitting the sheriff’s sister was not part of the plan. Mickey had found out that Eryn was somewhere in the Hayward County area and he figured working for the sheriff, the man that he was told, knew everything that was happening in his jurisdiction. Was Grace knowledgeable about things like her brother or just an innocent bystander? He had yet to find out. At least she was a pretty thing. Pretty? She was a doll.

To save the last remaining piece of his heart, he refuses to become involved again. Until Paisley Halleran. Marcus, on the other hand, knows he has finally found the woman truly meant for him. However, not everything is cut and dried. Paisley unearths tragic secrets and lies that link her to Marcus. Not only will it show her whether Marcus is truly innocent or guilty of the murders in Woodland Creek, it will also spell the difference between staying with Marcus because she wants to, or letting him go because she has no choice.

Blog Page Break 2

Sexcerpt from Treagar’s Redemption:

Marcus placed open mouth kisses against the pulse that beat erratically at the hollow of her neck, teasing, nipping before trailing his tongue along her collarbone down to her cleavage. He moved his head to suck and lick one tight nipple, and then the other that almost made her come before he rose up and dragged her jeans and panties off her.

Paisley couldn’t breathe. Her lungs seemed to want to burst with the excitement that coursed through her veins. Anticipation coated her at the sight of the carnal greed on Marcus’ face as though she was going to be eaten alive. He gave a satisfied groan when he looked at the wetness between her legs, wetness Paisley could feel sliding down the center of her ass cheeks. Her gaze followed Marcus as he retreated from the bed and stood in front of her. He was a powerful force, his aura of dominance slamming against her. Her eyes followed the flat surface and valleys of his well-built frame and her face grew hot at the sight of his arousal twitching. He looked at her, his hunger palpable, sexy, dangerous.

It was something she craved.

He grinned at her. “Like what you see, cara?”

Her eyes lifted to his. She smiled. “Yes.”

“Then it’s yours, but first I need to eat.”

Disappointment bit at the heels of Paisley’s desire. “Sure.” She eased up to turn a trifle, embarrassed that she was nearly spread-eagle on the bed. “Let me get your food tray.”

Marcus’ hands suddenly gripped her ankles. “No, cara. What’s on the tray is not what I will eat. I want what’s between your legs. Voglio il tua figa.”

“I want your wet pussy.”

“Oh.” Paisley’s breathing intensified when Marcus kneeled on the floor and pulled her to the edge of the bed. He spread her legs and placed them on his shoulders, then nipped her inner thighs gently before his tongue swiped at her.

“Ohhh…” Her eyes closed in ecstasy, every nerve ending in her skin hyper aware of Marcus’ mouth. His growls and the sounds his tongue and mouth made as he swiped from her hood to her crack brought her to dizzying heights of bliss. More of her liquid heat flowed to sustain him and she cried out when Marcus used his thumb to swirl her clit, while his tongue licked her opening. Then Marcus replaced his tongue with two fingers inside her and took her nub inside his mouth, grazing his teeth gently against it.

Paisley fisted the sheets, her body rising and falling against his expert fingers and mouth. As she felt her climax about to crest, she pressed her mound closer, her hands releasing the blanket to hold on to Marcus’ head, urging him deeper. Her body was as tight as a bowstring.

“So delicious, cara.” He growled against her clit, causing Paisley to arch her back. The combination of pleasure at Marcus eating her like the most delectable fruit and the soreness of her arm did little to stop her impending orgasm. Suddenly, Marcus let go of her clit and removed his fingers from inside her. He licked his fingers with gusto, his tongue licking every bit of cream from her. Paisley had no chance to ask why he stopped when she gasped to watch him delve back between her legs

“I have a long tongue, cara. A very long tongue and I’ve not put it to full use.” Marcus nipped at her inner thigh, trailing his tongue against her skin to let her feel the truth. “Have you been fucked by a long tongue?”

In the dark, she’d sit out on the deck, hugging her knees, trying to make herself as small as possible. If she could have, Harper would’ve disappeared. Only the crashing of the waves brought her peace. They were predictable. Rolling in, then rolling out.
Harper craved precision and structure in her life. She felt as if her present and her future was careening down a mountainside, she had no control over anything. Nightmares of what Ajax had done to her ate at her soul. At night she tossed and turned, her fears and insecurities all bound up in the images of people who’d turned their back on her.
There was no place for her in the vanilla world, she couldn’t function. And there was no place for her in the BDSM world either. Harper didn’t go to clubs anymore. She had no desire to seek out a Dom. Harper had resigned herself to just existing. Her past and her needs made her a pariah, a perversion. There was no way she could change and no place where she felt welcome.
What Harper needed was a hero. A man who could accept her shortcomings, give her what she craved. Cherish her, protect her and love her for who she was. But there was no man like that—not anymore. She’d turned her back on the only man in the universe who fit that description. And second chances didn’t exist for someone like her.
He’d looked for her. He’d tried to get in touch with her.
Both her grandmother and her parents had let her know. Even Noah said he’d contacted Tebow Ranch. But Harper had stayed hidden, off the radar. She was an island, she touched no one and no one touched her.
As the sea roared below her, the unceasing wind blowing in her hair, the seagulls crying their mournful call—Harper began to cry. If she could just go back, try again, not ask him to do those things, not tell him…
Her heart whispered his name. Revel. Revel Lee. Burying her head in the bend of her arm, she hid, letting her thoughts sweep her to another time, another place.
“Harper, what are you doing out here in this cold, baby?”
For a moment, Harper thought she was mad. A big, mountain of a man leaned down and wrapped his arms around her, carrying her into the warmth. “Let’s get you wrapped up. Do you know how long I’ve been searching for you?”
Harper shivered so hard, her teeth were chattering. He was real! The melancholy had been so deep, she’d thought he was a dream. Running her hands down his arms, Harper marveled that he was here, he was flesh and blood. “Revel?” she whispered, her voice weak with tears. Staring into his beloved face, she asked in disbelief, “What are you doing here?”
“Why do you think I’ve come?” His smile was tender. “I’m here to take you home.”
Oh, what a temptation. She’d ached to take him up on his offer. Harper wanted to go with him more than she wanted to see tomorrow. But she couldn’t. You can’t go home again, that’s what the songs all say. And they were right. There was no place for here there.
He’d come to her, he’d begged, he’d pleaded. And she had to hurt him again to make him go.
“I’m sorry, Revel. I can’t go back. My life there is over.” Her heart was breaking. This was harder than anything she’d ever had to do. He hadn’t asked just once, he’d come again and again, begging. But she had to protect him. “Please, no. Don’t keep asking me.”
When she’d tried to shut him out, he’d pushed in, desperate. “I won’t hurt you, Harper,” he’d assured her when she backed away from him. “I’d never hurt you.”
Instead, she chose to hurt him, to deliberately twist his words. “And therein lies the problem. You know what I need. And you can’t give it to me.”
She’d watched his face as he struggled with her words. “Harper, I let you down, but I can be what you need. I know about McCoy and I know about that maniac, Ajax. Let me make it up to you.”
Harper wanted to cry, instead she laughed. She couldn’t afford to give him reason to hope. “You turned me away, Revel.”
Revel grabbed for her and she backed away. “I did not turn you away. I told you I was surprised, that’s all. If you had given me a chance, given me time, I would have learned.”
“This isn’t something you can force yourself to do, Revel.”
“Give me a chance, Harper,” he pleaded with her. “I don’t want to be alone, I don’t want you to be alone. I love you, I’ve loved you from the first moment I saw your face.”
Beautiful words. Words she’d give the sun, the moon and the stars to hear and believe. Revel meant them, but he only had part of the story. “You think you do.”
He pulled her close, crashing their lips together, not giving Harper another second to say anything else. For a few precious moments, they kissed. With his mouth, with his body, with his heart—he offered her everything he had…his life, his soul.
And as much as Harper wanted to accept what he offered, she couldn’t. It wouldn’t be right. “No.” She pushed at his chest. “I can’t do it.”
Revel bowed his head, defeated. “Why?”
Because I love you, is what she wanted to say. “It’s wrong. We’ll only end up hurting one another. You’d regret it. I can’t change.”
“Fuck!” With one powerful blow, he hit the wall above her head, splintering the wood. Harper jumped. “Don’t you understand?” Revel bellowed in his pain. “I don’t want you to change.” His face contorted with pain. “I will change. I will be what you want. I’ll be what you need.”
“No.” She looked into his beloved face. “I can’t ask that. You must go.”
“Ask anything of me, but that. I’ll give you all I am, all I have. Please don’t send me away.”
Agony like she’d never felt before ripped through her. This wasn’t the sensual pain that helped her survive, this was excruciating, soul-ripping. This wasn’t pain one survived—not more than once. And so she lied. “I don’t want you, Revel. You do nothing for me. I need a man. A real man. A man who can give me what I need and you’ll never be that man.”
“I see.” Revel felt her words slice through his heart like the sharp edge of a sword. With a sinking heart, he walked away. Giving her the only gift he could.
To be parted from him.
