When he let his mouth slide from hers, breathing heavily, Maddie slid her hands up over his shoulders to entwine behind his neck. “I don’t think we should stop. I want her to be really, really convinced.” She leaned on him and began kissing his jaw, scraping her teeth along the sexy scruff. “Oh, West, you make me feel so good,” she moaned loudly.
Behind them, they heard a bump and a curse.

“Goal!” West whispered in her ear. “I think our performance was successful.” But instead of letting her go, he pulled her tighter to him. He could feel the mounds of her breasts pushing against his chest, the rock-hard points of her nipples making him want to mold them with his hands.

They heard Morgana’s door open and close and the TV came on in the living room, loudly. “Yes, I guess she bought it.” Madeline traced Rod’s cheek, running a finger over his mouth. “Thank you for helping me. I know you probably have better things to do than mess with me, but I really need you to stay with me tonight.”

At his raised eyebrow, she stood on tiptoe. “No, wait, wait. I know you don’t want to have sex with me and that’s not what I’m asking. I appreciate the kisses more than words can say.”

“Madeline—”

Maddie covered his mouth so she could continue speaking until she finished. “When we talked on the phone and I asked you to be my escort for this evening, you said I could pay eight hundred for the entire night. That’s what I’m prepared to do.” She moved her fingers, kissed him quick, and ran across the room. “I’ve got your check right here.”

“Escort?” West tried to make sense out of what he was hearing. If he was understanding…damn!

“Madeline, you’ve been calling me Weston all night. You do know who I am, don’t you?”

Maddie was lying crosswise over her bed, ass in the air, digging through her purse. “Of course I know who you are. I referred to you as Weston Rogers because when I bragged to Morgana about having a boyfriend, she asked me what his name was.” She grinned over her shoulder at him. “The gall, right? Anyway, when she enquired about a name, I’d just been talking to this architect about working on the Windswept and I panicked. His name, Weston Rogers, was the only name I could think of.”

West just stood and listened. Slowly, slowly…he was getting the picture.

Madeline was chattering. “So after I made the announcement that I was dating Weston Rogers, she asked me to produce him.” She laughed. “Threw me for a loop, I tell you. But then I realized I could hire an escort, so I called your company and I’m very grateful that you recognized Weston Rogers’ name and went with it.” She sat up on the bed and pushed her hair out of her eyes. “Whew! You were very resourceful.” Maddie stood and walked toward him. “Here’s your check and if you could hang out with me till in the morning, I’d be grateful. We can put pillows between us on the bed.”

West started to laugh. He didn’t take the check. He just put his hand to his forehead and laughed harder.

“What’s so funny? The floor’s hard and I don’t think one of us should sleep on the couch. It would be my luck Morgana would get up for a drink of water or something.” When West kept laughing, Madeline put her hands on her hips, and she started laughing too. “We’ll be like those Amish. Don’t they put pillows between their young couples and call it snicker-doodling or something?”

West’s laughter escalated from mild to uproarious.

“The term you’re thinking of is canoodling, but the Amish practice is called bundling.”

“Well, I was close.” Maddie protested.

“Not even, not about the bed snuggling and not about the other.” He wiped tears from his face. “I’m not an escort.”

“What do you mean you’re not an escort? You’re Rod Long. I found you on a website!” She was beginning to panic.

A knock sounded on the door. “Will you two hold it down in there? I’m sure seeing Magpie naked is hilarious, but I can’t hear the television!”

“Go away, Morgana!” Maddie yelled, stepping forward toward the door, her fists clenched. Turning back, she glared at Rod or whoever he was. “Let me get this straight,” she asked again. “You’re not Rod from BOYSQUAD?”

“No, I’m not.” She was so cute, standing there staring at him like he was an alien from Mars.

She turned her head, squinting her eyes, surveying him closely. “So, who are you? Or do I want to know?”

West spread his hands, as if showing her he was hiding nothing. “I told you who I was when I walked through the door. I’m Weston Rogers. I brought the blueprints for the renovation.”

Madeline dropped her head. She walked calmly across the room, opened her closet and stepped inside, shutting the door.

Sexcerpt:

He laughs at me. “I’ll pat you dry when you’re done.” I cannot believe he just said that. I know I’m blushing. His hand comes up to my shirt and strokes my neck. “How far does that blush go?” he growls. “I want to get to know you. You are cute and sassy. You remind me of someone and it’s bugging me that I can’t place who that is. I swear I’ve seen those dimples before.”

He watches me. I know he can tell I’m thinking it over. Before I can decide, he pushes me up against the wall and crashes his mouth to mine. This man knows how to use his mouth. His tongue explores every crevice and is giving me ideas that are just plain X-rated. I’ve been kissed before but this isn’t a kiss. This is being explored to the tenth degree. His hands are holding me to him and exploring my back and ass. He stands and I lift off the floor with him. He pulls my leg around his hip on first one side then the other. No one has ever held me up and inspected my tonsils like this before. My hands are snaking up and around his neck. My fingers are itching to touch the scruff on his face and tangle in his hair. His mouth moves across my jaw and into my neck. I moan and I know he heard it.

“Tell me you want this,” he murmurs into my neck. Oh, I want it all right. I don’t know what it is but I want it! “Well? Tell me this is okay or I have to stop. I really don’t want to stop, baby,” he whispers into my ear.

“Don’t stop, oh God, don’t stop,” is all I can get out.

His mouth is on mine again and all coherent thoughts are gone.

“Where’s your room?” he asks.

“Second door on the left,” I pant out from lack of breath.

We’re moving and every step he takes is letting my girly bits rub on his belt. I hear him kick the door shut with his boot. He moves his hand from my ass and I hear the lock click.

Oh Emm Gee! This man is heaven sent. He smells amazing and my body is thrumming with need. This might just turn out to be my favorite mistake. I feel him lowering me to the bed. His weight on me is intoxicating.

“Kick your shoes off. Let me help you with your clothes,” he growls. My shoes are toed off and I feel his hands sliding my shirt up. I look up at him with want and need in my eyes and I see desire in his. “You’re beautiful. I want you. I really want you,” he says to me.

His kisses have me drugged and I can only moan as the feel of his hands on my chest are driving me insane with feelings.

“You need to tell me if this is what you want. I have to hear the words,” he growls, while moving his hands and mouth down to my chest. His lips nip at my breast and tug my nipple into his warm mouth. I am screaming in my head for him to never stop. He has stopped and I want to complain. He grabs my face and I look at him. “Tell me now whether to stay or go. If I go, I won’t be back,” he whispers while looking into my eyes.

“Don’t go,” I beg.

That’s all I need to say. His hands are reaching for my skirt. I feel him tugging my panties and hear them rip. It feels like he has a dozen hands. My clothes are torn from me and I feel his skin on mine. I have no clue where his shirt and vest went. His body is hard as steel. Muscles float across his torso, and make me think of washboards. There are eight to ten. This man is an overachiever in the six pack department. I feel the hardness of his cock pressed into my leg. This man is ready to make fantasies come true.

His strokes were slow and rhythmic, designed to work a woman to a crazed state. I should know because he was slowly taking me there. He didn’t want me to come yet, but that was getting harder and harder with each new round of pleasure. Each time a wave crashed over me, my muscles threatened to let my body collapse onto the bed. I wasn’t sure how much longer I could hold myself up.

And not to reach out and touch him? That was a whole other level of how-the-fuck-will-I-make-it-through-this?

He pushed another finger inside so I now had two delivering me heaven. I writhed under his touch, my muscles seriously beginning to tire. My eyes squeezed close and my fingers curled into a ball, wanting desperately to cling to something, but unable to latch onto anything the way they were tied. The orgasm that continually tried to shatter me, moved dangerously close until it reached the point where I thought I could no longer fight it.

“Griff, I can’t…I can’t do this anymore.” I panted as my muscles gave way and my body dropped to the bed.

His fingers left me, and in what felt like a split second, he had me flipped onto my stomach, and he’d moved so his knees were on the bed, either side of my legs. One of his hands landed on the bed beside me while he placed the other one on my back. He growled into my ear, “Do you know what happens when you don’t obey me, Sophia?”
My breathing had turned into pants and my muscles were screaming at me, all while my pussy pulsed with need. “No,” I managed to get out, even though I struggled to form a thought while my mind tried to deal with all my senses at once.

“When you don’t do as I say, I get to punish you, in any way I want.”

New Release + 5 Star ARC Review ☆ Take a Chance by Micalea Smeltzer

ARC received for honest review for CJ’s Book Corner

I wanted to read this book slow. I didn’t want this series to end. The last of the Willow Creek boys story was being told and I think it was the best. Hayes, the guitar player for Willow Creek was the playboy of the group. Until he met Arden, Sadie’s assistant. They shared an amazing night together and that was it for him. She thought is was a one time thing and tried to avoid him. He made it known he was not giving up. She had a crazy ex and a little girl. He was going to make her forget the past and love them both. Boy did he!! This story is what every woman who is dating would want in a man. The passion, the attention, the undeniable chemistry, and of course the devotion to not only her but her daughter.

All of Micalea Smeltzer’s books leave an impression. Her stories are well told, she makes her characters believable, and you can’t help but fall in love with every series. I am sad to see this one end, but know that she has got another one waiting in the wings ready for us to fall in love with again. Thank you Micalea Smeltzer for bringing us the boys of Willow Creek. This has definitely been one of my fave series.

Blog Page Break 2Blurb

And then I met him.

Hayes.

The bad boy that just might not be so bad.

Three years after her husband walked out on her Arden James is struggling to make ends meet as a single mom. Despite it all, she knows she’s better off with her ex out of the picture, and so is her daughter.

Josh Hayes—player, jokester, and very naughty boy—is the guitar player for the band Willow Creek. He’s used to living the fast life, but suddenly it doesn’t appeal to him anymore, and he has his sights set on the fiery Arden.

Capture (Seaside Pictures #1) Rachel Van Dyken

ARC received for honest review

Rachel Van Dyken you have done it again with this heartwarming story of love and healing. A takeoff from the amazing Seaside novels, Capture focuses on Dani, best friends of Alec and Demetri, sister in law to Jaymeson, and now personal assistant to Lincoln Greene, the hottest guy in Hollywood. All would be great except for one thing. Tragedy in her life has left her mute and struggling to deal with everything, let alone a gorgeous young actor. To make everyone happy she agrees to the job and soon finds herself falling for the guy. Problem is he keeps reminding her she is seventeen, even though he is having trouble remembering that himself. Their friendship becomes healing but will it last?

This is just another fine example why I will always read a book from Rachel VanDyken when it comes out. Her stories touch your heart and make you want to read them until you are done. Such is the case with this one. I couldn’t put it down! If you haven’t read the Seaside Series, I would suggest. It gives you a sense of all the other characters who make appearances in this book as well as help you understand their personalities. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Rachel Van Dyken again for delivering another amazing book. Now, about Zane….

Synopsis

Losing your ability to speak at the age of seventeen; it’s not normal or fair.

But trauma, has a way of throwing normality out the window.

Dani lives anything but a normal life.

Her sister is married to one of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Her best friends are rockstar duo AD2.

And she has more love around her than most people experience in a lifetime.

But that doesn’t change the fact their parents are dead.

Or that it’s her fault.

It seems her new normal is being a mute, living on the inside, unable to actually communicate on
the outside.

That is until Hollywood’s newest heartthrob Lincoln Greene hires her as his assistant for the summer.

He’s gorgeous, completely unavailable, and unobtainable.

But that doesn’t stop her from wondering…if things were different…would he want her?

If she was whole, would he be the other half?

EXCERPT

“Finally!” Jaymeson pointed at both of us. “Lincoln, show her to her mark. Dani, for this scene you’re simply staring at him like you want to eat him. Think you can do that?”
I nodded.
Any woman could do that.
Most men too.
“Cue music!” Jaymeson called out. “Action.”
A techno mix of AD2’s latest song filled the air as the extras started dancing around us. I stayed glued to the wall while Lincoln delivered his lines to Pris, and then he lifted his head, meeting my gaze.
It’s just a movie. It’s just a movie.
The breath left my chest on one slow exhale as he moved toward me, his body making fluid purposeful movements through the crowd.
My lips parted; my entire body felt heavy as he approached.
He stopped in front of me, his forehead grazing mine as he leaned in a few inches. Our breath mingled as the music and scene faded around me.
“Cut!” Jaymeson yelled.
Holy crap on a cracker. I almost experienced my first stroke — at seventeen.
“You okay?” Lincoln’s eyebrows knit together in concern.
I licked the lipstick from my lips and nodded quickly.
Jaymeson approached. “Time for the kiss, remember kissing, not hockey. Clearly, you were confused earlier.”
Lincoln gritted his teeth and let out a little groan.
I patted his arm and grinned, my way of encouraging him. He seemed to pale more.
My stomach sank.
Maybe it was me.
I was the problem.
Not the kiss, but me. If he’d had trouble kissing my gorgeous sister, how was he going to be able to kiss me?
“Hey…” Lincoln cupped my cheek. “… focus on me, nothing else, alright? It’s only us.”
I nodded.
“You ever been to a party?”
I rolled my eyes.
“Ever made out with a guy at a party that wasn’t your boyfriend?”
I thought about it then slowly shook my head.
“So that’s what this scene is about. It’s about a guy seeing a girl from across the room and wanting her so badly that he’s willing to cheat on his own girlfriend for just one taste. Granted, he’s supposedly drunk and high, but that just takes the romance out of it, doesn’t it?”
He released my cheek and stepped back. “Imagine you’re trying to attract me, make your body as inviting as possible. Hell, just stand there and look at me, and you’ll sell it.”
Sell it. I repeated the words in my mind.
I could do that.
Because I wanted him to kiss me.
It made my heart beat faster.
My blood pump harder.
And for the first time since my parents’ death, I was actually excited about something. Nervous, but excited.
“Okay,” I mouthed.
I must have surprised him again because his eyes darkened, and then he grinned. “One day, Dani. One day I’m going to hear my name coming from that gorgeous mouth of yours, and I’m not going to be held responsible for my actions… damn the consequences.”
My breath hitched.
“Quiet on set! And action!”
There was no warning. Suddenly, Lincoln’s mouth was fused against mine, no teeth, just his soft lips pushing, prodding, moving slowly back and forth until his tongue slid through and made contact with mine.
Heart racing, I opened my mouth enough to deepen the kiss as heat washed over me.
He groaned and dug his fingers into my shoulders then slid his hands down my back and gripped my butt. I let out a squeak of surprise as I flicked his tongue with mine.
“Cut!” Jaymeson yelled.
I kept kissing.
So did Lincoln.
His chest brushed roughly against mine; my breasts ached at the sharp contact. I let out a little hiss at the exact time Linc let out a groan and nudged his knee between my legs.
“Cut!” Jaymeson yelled again.
Slowly, Lincoln pried himself away from me, chest heaving.
“Good enough,” said Jaymeson.
“No,” Lincoln argued without taking his wild grey eyes off me, “I went off script. We need to do it again.”
“The hell you do,” someone mumbled. I wasn’t surprised to see Demetri glaring daggers at Lincoln’s back. Alec was next to Jaymeson, giving him an earful. I noted the strong tick in his jaw.
“Fine.” Jaymeson waved them both off. “We’ll do it again.”
“Take two, and action!”
This time the kiss was slow, languid in its movements. Hot waves of pleasure coursed through my body as his tongue slid seductively pass my lips. His taste, the feel of his mouth was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. Greedily, I moaned, desperate for more of him as I reached for his shirt then fisting it with my hands and tugging him tighter against my body, wanting more contact with him. I felt every plane of muscle as he slowly turned us so his back was semi facing the camera. His knee nudged my legs apart as pressure increased down the middle of my body. I hadn’t really looked long at the script, but I was pretty sure that this wasn’t part of it.
Not that I was complaining.
He rocked into me, my back connected with the wall. With a possessive growl, he nipped my lower lip then started kissing down my neck. Kissing in public had never been my thing — but maybe that was because I’d never kissed Lincoln.
I would kiss him anywhere.
All he needed to do was ask.
Body humming with pleasure, I let out a little gasp as his warm lips met the pulse on my neck. Then his tongue licked where his lips had just been.
His knee rose higher and higher as my body sank onto his; the first contact of his leg had my body screaming with pleasure — just a little higher, just a little more.
“Cut!” someone shouted, though it didn’t sound like Jaymeson.
Suddenly, Demetri was pulling Lincoln away from me and glaring daggers at both of us. “I think you guys got the scene.”
Embarrassed, I looked down, tucking my silky hair behind my ear. Did I really almost just dry hump Lincoln Greene’s leg? In front of about twenty people, including my sister?
“You sure?” Lincoln asked, voice hoarse. I glanced up at him, his chest was heaving with exertion, his lips swollen. “Because I could have sworn I messed up my lines.”
“There are no lines, you bastard,” Demetri muttered under his breath.
“Damn it!” Jaymeson shouted. “Hey, guys, I’m going to need you to shoot it one more time. Remember, Lincoln, you’re supposed to proposition her.”
Lincoln grinned smugly at Demetri.
Demetri didn’t move.

But all her life, Nancy has wanted a family. Finally convincing Tiny he would make a good father, Nancy gets her baby. Married for almost eighteen years, Tiny works hard to keep Nancy happy in her life and with him. They share a love for the MC’s kids, but still Nancy demands more. When she heard the group home needed parents she started thinking of a way to convince Tiny they’d be perfect for the job.

 Sexcerpt:

He slides me down his body and I feel how hard he is. He’ll get no complaints from me. I pull on his nipple ring, getting a moan. He lifts my blouse. “Fuck, I like the Bears,” he says while pulling the chain. My new animal nipple jewels get pulled tight, sending jolts of pleasure through me. “You’ve been walking around with no damn bra and I made you wait?” I smile at him. I actually took it off when I first came upstairs but there are some things you should just leave alone. This would be one of them.

He sits on the chair and puts me facing away on his lap. I like this position. His hands pull me so my back is on his chest. He lifts my hips and slides in hard and fast, I grab his forearms and hold it back; it’s too soon for me to come like a teenager. Dammit! His hands move, one on my pussy and one on my nipple, pulling the chain by stretching his thumb out. Shit, he’s going to tease the hell out of me. “Come on my cock, Tiny Dancer, I want you nice and wet for me.” His hand is circling my clit, causing my hips to circle with his motion, while his teeth scrape down my neck to my shoulder. It doesn’t take me long and he knows just when I’m ready to explode. He bites my shoulder, squeezes my nipple, pulling on the chain and pinches my clit; it hits me all at once and I’m gone.

Still dazed he moves to the bed, putting me face down with my feet on the floor. I’m still catching my breath and he’s hammering into me. Just as I’m building again he pulls out, making me cry out, “No!”

“Oh, babe, I’m not even close to done with you.” His voice is low and husky; I get a chill down my back hearing how much he’s affected.

I hear a condom and moan. Baby oil drips on my ass and he’s pushing his way in. Oh dear lord! I cry out, “All the way!” When the initial burn goes away I’m moaning. Sliding in and out slowly is making me crazy. He pulls out and I whine another ‘no.’

“My bad girl wants it all tonight.” He puts my knees on the bed and folds my body so my stomach is on them then he slides back in. I know he does this so he doesn’t have to bend so far. It makes me smile. He slams me from behind and I stop smiling and start moaning. Holy shit, it’s good! “I love seeing my dick sliding in your sweet tight ass, babe.” He’s breathing heavy. Bending, he bites my shoulder and snakes his arm under me, pushing my hand down to my pussy. “Come for me, Tiny Dancer. Let me hear how you like that cock in your ass,” he says at my ear.

I feel everything but hear only him. He’s pulling the chain again, making my nipples ache, then he pulls out and slides in my pussy hard and fast again. I come screaming for him, as if he can save me. I feel him fall at my side, feel me being moved onto his shoulder, feel his chest rise and fall, but my brain is floating.

He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.

When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours.

My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

I wanted him, but Chance wouldn’t make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the cocky bastard, especially when I knew we’d be going our separate ways.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Excerpt

A knock at the door made me jump.

With a huff, I got out of bed and stood on my tiptoes to look out the peephole. Why were those things always so high on the door anyway? I was surprised to find no one standing on the other side. Maybe I’d imagined it.

Another knock.

I flicked on the lights. The sound wasn’t coming from the entrance door. It was coming from an interior door I hadn’t even noticed before.

Chance’s door.

I unfastened the top lock and cracked it open just enough so I could see what he wanted. And there he stood.

Shirtless.

Wearing only dark gray boxer briefs that hugged him like a second skin.

It took a minute to understand what he was doing there, even though he was holding up a toothbrush in question.

“I thought we had established I wasn’t a serial killer already.”

I opened the door wider.

He smiled.

Oh lord. Stop that. Right now.

“I must have left my toothpaste in my saddlebag in the car.”

I swallowed hard. “Uh huh.”

He cocked his head to the side, and his brows dipped in. “Can I borrow yours?”

“Oh. Yeah, sure.”

He walked past me and let himself into my bathroom. I waited at the door.

“You got an awful lot of girly crap in here for one night,” he said with a jumbled mouth full of toothpaste from the bathroom. “Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.”

He was reading my Estee Lauder perfume bottle.

I heard him rinse and spit. Then there was a gargling sound. He used my mouthwash, too. Sure, help yourself.

He walked out and flicked off the bathroom light. “Is tuberose a rose?”

I shook my head, still confused by the whole situation going on.

“That’s why,” he murmured.

“Why what?”

“I couldn’t figure out what you smelled like all day. Not sure I ever smelled a Tuberose before.” He shrugged and walked back into his room but not before turning back. “Even those little black lacy underwear smell like tuberose.”

My eyes bulged. I’d taken off my bra and panties and left them on the bathroom counter.

“You…you—”

“Relax. I’m teasing. Do I look like an underwear sniffer to you?”

Yes.

No.

Maybe?

“Night, Aubrey.” He graced me with a dimple and disappeared.

AH-BREE. Damn him.

I locked the door and checked it twice, unclear if it was for my safety or his. His voice saying my name was on audio replay inside my head, getting softer and softer like a soothing lullaby with each breath as I drifted off to dreamland.

Until the knock came again.

New Release ☆ Capture (Seaside Pictures #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

capturebannerrelease

5 Star ARC Review ☆ End of Day by Jewel E Ann

End of Day (Jack & Jill #1) Jewel E. Ann

ARC received for honest review

Holy crap I LOVED this book!!! My first read from Jewel E. Ann and I am hooked! This book had everything a fan of darker romances could love. The mystery surrounding these two and the secrets that follow them kept me turning the page until late into the night. Every time I thought I understood what was going on, the past was brought up and I was left wondering again. I loved the darker side of the characters and their interactions and chemistry. It all helped to fuel the intensity of the book and the story line. I truly didn’t want it to end. But then it did, and BAM the cliffhanger is going to kill me! Never would have seen it. Well done!! Thank you Jewel E. Ann for hooking me into your world!

Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust; in the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life.

Four caskets. Two bodies.

Jessica and Jude Day witness their funeral and that of their parents a few yards away from mourning family and friends. Stripped of the only life they’ve ever known, the Days say goodbye to San Francisco forever.

Four months later, two thirty-year-old misfits with elite self-defense skills and penchants for alcohol, sex, and trouble arrive like an earthquake to Peaceful Woods, a retirement community in Omaha, Nebraska, that thrives on rules and gossip. Welcome home, Jackson and Jillian Knight.

Jackson celebrates his new beginning by embracing his job and wiping his cavalier past clean with a temporary oath of celibacy. But Jillian’s past is branded into her soul—the deaths, the insanity, Dr. Luke Jones, and the need to make her lovers bleed. Her chance for redemption comes in the form of a next door neighbor, one Senior Master Sergeant Monaghan. He’s sexy, dangerously alluring, and riddled with emotional issues from years of service. He’s also … So. Damn. Grumpy.

Their mission is simple: Let go, start over, don’t kill anyone, and pray that nobody wakes the dead.

“Have you ever killed anyone?”

Jessica’s smile slipped. “If I told you then I’d have to kill you.”

      “So you’re a secret agent?”

She flipped onto her stomach, resting her chin on her crossed arms. “If I said yes then it would no longer be a secret. Come on, Jones, you’re losing your focus. Don’t let me feel smarter than you or our time together will be over and I rather like hanging out here.”

      “Luke,” he corrected.

      “Lucas.”

      “Luke.”

      “Lukey.”

      “LUKE!”

      “Lulu.”

“I mean it!” Luke showed another rare moment of teetering emotion.

Jessica chuckled. “What are the chances of us having sex? I’ve never done it missionary, but you could possibly counsel me through it.”

He refocused on his crossword puzzle, filling in a word in pen. “Less than zero percent.”

“So, not in my favor, eh?

      “Why not missionary?”

Jessica smiled in delight that Luke continued with the topic of conversation. “I’m sure you already know, but if you want me to say I need control, then sure, I need control. But the truth is I’d control any sex position you want to put me in.” Jessica winked as Luke gave her a fleeting glance. “I just don’t want you thinking you have control, even if I know it’s not the case. Pisses me off to see the smirk on a guy’s face when he thinks he has control.”

“Tell me why you need control.” Luke continued with his crossword.

      “In bed?”

      “Yes.”

      “Someone has to have it.”

      “Why?”

      “Because someone initiates it.”

“So if I initiate sex with you will I have control?”

“There’s only one way to find out.” Jessica wiggled her eyebrows at an ill-humored Luke.
