Reincarnation.
True love. These are the things of legend. Unexplained, some even say impossible, but nonetheless prevalent in stories and tales from all cultures and in every land from the beginning of time. What if there is something to it? What if there is an explanation behind the mysteries and bedtime stories? Something beyond words?

SALEM, MASSACHUSETTES 1692

She was taken from him in the cruelest way… condemned, sentenced and punished out of fear of the unknown. How is he supposed to live without her? How can he go on knowing that in this life, by the natural order of things, they will never be together? There’s only one thing to do… only one option that will bring them together again.

SALEM , MASSACHUSETTES TODAY

Amelia is taken on a weekend excursion with her best girlfriends to let loose, relax and have a little fun. What harm is there in a little vacation? It’s not like the legends, the haunted history of the place can scare them away. It’s all harmless fun.

Or so she thought.

Something seems familiar about the town. The trees, the winds, the feel of everything. Her ever present nightmares have become more intense within the limits of the old historical setting. She’s prepared to write off the whole trip as nothing more than a case of her mind running away with the sensationalized magic here. When she meets a handsome stranger who’s eager to know her in a way no one else can, she begins to think there may be something more to this place, something more to him.

Will has been waiting, biding his time, and praying that she’ll come back. He’s broken the natural order of things to possibly find her again, weaving their way through the years until they can be together again. He knows he may never find her, but he can’t risk not trying. This place calls to her, just as it did to him. It will bring her back home. It will bring her back to him.

What’s 300 years when it comes to true love? He’s prepared to wait an eternity if he has to, just to see her, hold her, kiss her again.. to make her remember what was stolen from them so long ago. To make her remember who she is, the power she possesses and the love they swore to each other.

And don’t forget to join the Release Game! It will go from March 19th until Release Day. There will be prizes galore, including daily prizes! You can join the fun here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1628927154003076/

relinquish coverRelinquish by M.N Forgy released on June 17th!

The story where a girl follows the only route to survive, the path of prostitution. What she didn’t know was that road led to her worst nightmare.

Blurb

In my world, there is no such thing as love. It is just a lie we whisper into our client’s ear. Love is foreign and hazardous. What I did not expect was to bare my soul to a man who is as egotistical as he is dangerous.

His name is Landon. Despite his blackened soul, he tried to save me, but what he didn’t expect was my torturous fate to catch up with me.

To your father, I’m the escort.

To your mother, I’m the whore.

To the legal system, I’m the prostitute.

In the end, I’m just the other woman.

I have no idea if I will continue to survive, if I will ever find my path aside from the gritty streets I know so well. There is a good chance I will wind up in the ditch like most women in my position. Surrendering to my fate is the only choice I have. I must relinquish it all.

The Magnolia Affair by T.A. Foster

ARC received for an honest review

I am a huge House of Cards fan on Netflix and this book was like watching an episode of HoC but in this case I couldn’t just press the button at the end and go to the next chapter! I was help captive by this book!! This story was so well written and had so many twists and turns it was hard to figure which way you wanted the story to go. Audrey had the perfect suburbia life with her successful lawyer husband, uppity neighbors, and her book club. Then Paxton Tanner moves in next door. The leader for the Senator’s nomination Audrey is somehow drawn to him and his friendship. But then attraction takes over and she does the unthinkable. Now she is faced with what she has done, a horrific tragedy, and suddenly she is pulled into a world she never expected. Now with a new title and new responsibilities she begins to question things about her previous life and what happened. I was stunned by the turn of events that happened throughout the books and the changes Audrey went through as a result. I am glad I signed up to read this. Otherwise I probably would have missed out on this truly amazing book! Thank you T.A. Foster! Please tell me there is another?

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Is it important to you that I like you?” I didn’t mean to be blunt.

“Yes.” His arm brushed mine again, but this time I wasn’t sure it was an accident.

“I’m just one little vote. You probably have the rest of the neighborhood in the bag. The book club was impressed with you.”

I thought he might be digesting my statement. “Every vote counts. Every person matters. You matter.”

We turned at the corner. I could see my driveway ahead. “You sound like an idealist.”

The center of my chest warmed when I heard the sound of his laugh. I wasn’t supposed to feel that when I heard another man laugh. I wasn’t supposed to react at all.

“I’ve been accused of worse. How about an idealist who wants his ideals to become reality?” He ventured a compromise.

I wondered if he and Sarah had conversations like these. Did he try to change her stance on issues? Did he woo her to his side of the fence with charismatic comebacks?

“Audrey?”

“Yeah. Sounds good.”

“I think I lost you for a second.”

“Sorry, I was just thinking.”

“I aimed too high with gun control, didn’t I? It’s an intense issue.” His expression changed.

“It’s not that.” I couldn’t explain what was happening. I should be able to have a mature conversation with my neighbor. We should be able to stroll on the sidewalk. I should be able to be next to him without thinking about his lips. Lips that smiled like a movie star. Something was changing and I couldn’t stop it.

There was enough light filtering through the crepe myrtles that I could see the muscles tensing in his neck. Had I said something wrong?

The flowerbed that marked the entrance to Paxton’s driveway was a few paces from where we stood. I quickened my step.

“I like talking to you. It’s nice to be able to talk without worrying about the consequences.”

My eyes flashed to his. But there were consequences. Things were happening inside me. My skin was flushed, my nerves vibrating, my pulse thumping hard against the inside of my head. He couldn’t see any of it, but I wasn’t certain he didn’t feel it.

I took a step, forgetting about the lumpy spot in front of his driveway, and almost landed on my face. Paxton gripped my arm, pulling me upward, saving me from landing facedown.

“Whoa there. You ok?”

“God, I’m sorry.” I shook off his hold. “I’m fine. I wasn’t watching where I was going. Stupid roots everywhere.” I noticed the way my arm ached from his grip. It was warm and pulsing. “Good night. Thanks for walking me home.” I wanted to run, speed past him. Run straight out of my skin.

“But, it’s dark. Let me at least drop you off at your door,” he suggested. “I wouldn’t want you to get hurt.”

I hesitated. There was a part of me hoping he would offer.

“All right. We can cut through your yard. There’s a short cut.”

“Show me.”

I followed Paxton along the driveway, noticing the lights in my house were off. This was late even for Spencer. Maybe he had gone to bed.

We passed the front porch, and I pointed to the path I used earlier that day. I could feel him behind me, taking each step I took. I grabbed one of the stiff magnolia branches and forced it to the side when I felt his hand land on top of mine.

I stopped, frozen with dread, consumed with something I hadn’t felt in years. I held onto the branch, and Paxton held onto my hand, the warmth of his palm starting to heat my skin.

His breath was heavy on my neck. It felt like waves pounding against me, each one eroding the barrier between us. I was afraid to turn around, afraid that if I looked at him I would unravel. As long as I stared at the branch, I was still in control. I couldn’t speak.

With his free hand, he pushed the hair off my neck and blew across the collar of my shirt. My knees wobbled and I gripped tighter on the branch, forcing it to keep me upright.

It was involuntary, but my head reeled back. He stepped closer. I didn’t know who I was. Hiding in the shadows while a man I barely knew touched me, like a woman who was available. A woman who was free to make choices about who touched her. I wasn’t that woman. My life was tied to Spence. Those choices weren’t mine to make, but I was making one. His was breathing freedom across my skin I didn’t know I craved.

His hand canvassed my neck, taking my throat in his palm. He ran a finger down the center, pressing lightly as he crossed my collarbone. I didn’t think I could stand there much longer as his fingertips explored my skin. The cicadas echoing around our yards drowned out the sound of my heavy breath.

I needed to stop this. But I craved it more.

I couldn’t open my eyes when he turned me toward him. If I kept them closed, it was as if I were dreaming. This was all a wine-induced dream. I could tell myself it wasn’t happening. Standing under the branches with a man only hours ago I didn’t know, but was unquestionably drawn to. Pulled in by his voice, the look in his eye, the energy around him. How he managed to be rugged, yet refined. But I knew when his mouth took mine that it was real. I could taste the wine on his tongue and the roughness of his palms as he held my face. I savored the newness of him—our lips moving wildly.

I clutched at his back. The kiss grew hungrier, our moans turning to whimpers as we snatched at the clothes between us. His teeth grazed across my throat, nipping at the soft spots tenderly then cutting in just enough to tease me.

I tensed when I felt his hand slide along my stomach and push my bra out of the way. It was too much. I tried to break away and Paxton hung his head.

“God, I’m sorry,” he whispered.

I shook my head, feeling sick. “We can’t do this. I-I didn’t want you to kiss me. You weren’t supposed to kiss me.” My fists balled at my side.

“I know. I know. It was out of line. I got carried away.” He ran his fingers through his perfect haircut. “I’m sorry. That was idiotic.”

Only Forever  Cristin Harber  (Only #4)

ARC received for honest review

It’s like saying goodbye to a friend when you write a review for the last book in a series. Only Forever is the last book in the Only Series from Cristin Harber. It all comes down to this book for Grayson and Emma. Throughout this series we have gotten to watch Grayson and Emma come to terms with their past mistakes and learn to deal with the decisions they made. In this final installment, Grayson happens upon Emma’s last secret and lives and jobs are compromised when he finds out. But nothing will stand in his way to protect the one he loves. He will do anything he needs to be the man Emma and Callie can depend on. We also see the soft teddy bear side of Grayson with Callie and how adorable he is with her. Another secret will be revealed to with her that will melt your heart. It is another great series from Cristin Harber that is a must read. It winds in with the Titan Series, another favorite of mine, and is just a good story that will leave you feeling happy. Thank you Cristin Harber. Again.

Blog Page Break 2

The fourth and final installment of the Only series. Must be read in order.

There comes a time when Emma must face the secret she kept from Grayson. But she never thought it would be while she stood on stage at Emerald’s. The seconds she has to convey that her life is in danger are lost in the devastation that she sees rip through him.

She pinches her eyes closed. “Don’t leave me. No matter how mad you are, please, please don’t leave me here alone.”

But there’s more on the line than just Emma’s safety. There’s the danger that brought Titan’s Delta team in to the strip club in the first place. A threat that’s too close to home, too close to the family, the daughter and woman Grayson plans to claim.

I push away the sudden spring of fear. Life’s too unknown, with hidden enemies and unseen terrors. The idea that I could lose her again… it’s unbearable.

A love story like Grayson and Emma needs a forever love, and somehow they’ll find their way to her fairytale.

ARC received for honest review

Once again, a new author for me and once again, I am hooked! This is a must read! A contemporary love story that has both a sweet story of a second chance at love but sexual scenes that are emotional and sensitive. Two strong characters that connect on a level that has you wanting nothing but the best for them. I liked the way the story flowed and held my attention making me want to read every word of it. There was no pretentious alpha male and weak female falling for everything. It was a story of two friends who find each other again who are on opposite ends of the Hollywood scene. one is an actor, the other a paparazzi. Both could be career suicides for each other but that second chance proves to be more important. I didn’t get up until I was done with this book. A perfect standalone book to sit and enjoy! Thank you C.D. Reiss! You have a new fan.

ONE movie star on the cusp of greatness

ONE broken girl who touched him

TEN years to forget her

A MILLION stories in Hollywood

I am not hurt.

I don’t need a second chance with him, or a life I thought I had.

While he was out forgetting me to become a movie star, I was building a career out of nothing. A career as a paparazzi, but a career. For a foster kid who bounced around every home in Los Angeles, that wasn’t easy.

This camera is all I have.

He’s nothing to me. Every time I take his picture and sell it, I remind myself that I did it all without him or his approval, his cinnamon smell or his clear green eyes. He lights up the screen like a celestial body, but he’s nothing but a paycheck to me.

He can throw my camera off a balcony, and nothing has to change. We can stay king and queen of the same city, and different worlds.

Except this is Hollywood, and here, anything can happen.

Excerpt

I stroked his hair, waist deep in peace, all worry gone for the moment, and floating in no more than an ocean of gratitude. I must have been more vulnerable than I realized, or he’d reopened some wound with his kindness, because though my sweet reverie stayed, as the minutes passed, a layer of need fitted itself on top of it.

I needed to tell him, if not the details, the outlines of who I was.

“I want you to know,” I whispered, starting somewhere small, then everything I didn’t want to say spilled out. “I have stuff. I’ve never been to jail, but you know, it’s stuff, and it’s ugly, and it scares me. Because, I mean, you’re so perfect, and I’m… I’m just a mess. I’m not whole. I’m a bunch of pieces of a person I cobbled together.” My eyes got wet when I thought of the comparisons between us and that picture in my silverware drawer. “So if you have to move on when you realize that, I’ll understand. You have an image, and if anyone understands protecting a career, it’s me. I mean, I’ll be mad, don’t get that wrong, but also.” I swallowed and blinked, shifting my head so he wouldn’t feel the tear on his forehead. “I won’t blame you.”

I waited for an answer. Anything. A change in position or a word on any subject. The weather. Sports. Something. But all he did was breathe.

I smiled so wide, tears fell into my mouth. He was sleeping.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

cd reiss new bioCD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did embed TV story structure in her head well enough for her to take a big risk on a TV series structured erotic series called Songs of Submission. It’s about a kinky billionaire hung up on his ex-wife, an ingenue singer with a wisecracking mouth; art, music and sin in the city of Los Angeles.

Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to give the toilets a once-over every couple of weeks or chop a cord of wood.

Linda (known affectionately by all as Legs) works at the small town cafe.  She’s an aloof beauty who recently inherited her aunt Ada’s house.
Jack is a handsome outdoorsman that owns a sporting goods store and a big piece of Legs’ heart.
Aunt Ada didn’t like Jack when she was alive and she likes him even less from the afterlife.
This is an unusual love story, but it works.  The writing is imaginative, humorous and touching.

BOOK SYNOPSIS

Some ghosts won’t take “yes” for an answer.

Jack Harris has loved Legs Anderson since they were kids. Now that he has her in his bed, he has no intention of letting her go. Aunt Ada has other ideas, even from the grave.

GETTING BETWEEN JACK…

Orphaned at a young age, Legs Anderson owes her Aunt Ada everything. The stoic old lady raised her, and Ada’s warnings about men—and the Harris boys in particular—have stuck, even after her death. Of course, that could be because Ada stuck around, too.

…AND HIS LEGS

Patience is not one of Jack Harris’s virtues, and he’s waited too long to start a life with the woman he’s loved since childhood instead of them just knocking boots. Now Ada is interfering from beyond the grave, haunting the old Victorian house she bequeathed to her niece and reinforcing Legs’s fears of commitment. But Jack won’t give up. No matter what trouble may follow, the house will be renovated, Ada will learn to let go, Legs will put her money where her mouth is…and then Jack’ll put his lips everywhere else.

EXCERPT

The roar of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Rachel’s block and the rev of a throttle in her driveway announced Jack’s arrival. Legs tried to appear nonchalant when he walked through the poolside gate, but the sight of his sun-streaked hair and tanned, muscular good looks nearly knocked her off her seat. She eased her sunglasses down the bridge of her nose to get a better look.

When he stepped into the pool area dressed in black jeans, black biker boots, and a white muscle shirt that framed his pumped-up shoulders and biceps, she caught her breath. Everyone in the group said “hey” and Rachel offered him a cold drink, but his focus had remained on her. He slid his sunglasses on top of his head and nodded in her direction.

Legs remembered his gaze meeting hers before his attention strayed to her gold and black bikini then savored every inch of her skin. An appreciative smirk curled his lips and desire flashed in his beautiful blue eyes. He took a long pull of the soft drink someone handed him and then set the can down on the patio table. He looked her way and said, “Want to go for a ride?” The invitation came out like a dare.

Tye’s Undoing: A Harbinger Series Novella by Jennifer Field

ARC received for a honest review

A short read but worth it. The Harbinger Series by Jennifer Field is bound to be a good series. This is a story about Tye who we meet in the first of the Harbinger Series. It’s an introduction into his character and how he balances his “real” life with his Harbinger life. He is taken with one of his students Margret who has been having visions since she was a young child. The chemistry with these two is perfect. This is more of love story for Tye than what you get in Twice Lost. But that’s okay. Like the rest of the characters in Twice Lost, Tye is gorgeous and you are bound to get more of him throughout this series. For now though, enjoy this part of him. Both Margret and Tye will show up as the series continues. Thank you Jennifer Field!

Tyberius Frelser, Professor of Theology & Ancient Greek History and Harbinger of Death, has lived in Boston for the past three-hundred years, deciding to stay in his beloved city after the death of his wife, a tragedy that broke his heart. As a Harbinger, he is a tortured man, sentenced to a life he never asked for. As a professor, he is well renowned for his difficult curriculum and grading system. Upon flipping through student profiles, Tye comes across one he finds more than intriguing.

Margret Cole is a quiet, understated Grad student at Boston University, dreading the final class she needs to complete her doctorate in Ancient Religion. Since her mother’s untimely death when she was only twelve years old, she has suffered from nightmarish visions. Though the scene of her vision has always been the same, the battle between good and evil has become more clear over the years. And, at the center of this battle, are deep brown eyes and a handsome face that have haunted her for as long as she can remember.

Fascination and curiosity lead Tye and Margret on a path of exploration into not only her visions, but her bed, something neither have the desire to stop. But there is another player in this game, a powerful force with an agenda of their own.

Can Tye convince Margret that her visions are more special than she realizes before it’s too late, or will she ultimately become Tye’s Undoing?

About the Author

Jennifer’s debut full length novel Twice Lost – Book 1 in the Harbinger Series was released in September 2014 under the Forever Red Publishing label. She is currently working on four Novella length books within the Harbinger Series to be released in-between her full length novels just to keep the steaminess going.
She currently lives in Western Massachusetts and has a love for adventure that makes her who she truly is. As an avid mountain climber & hiker it is not unusual for her to be hanging off of a 5.9 in the Adirondacks or the Shawangunk Mountain ranges. During the off season of climbing, also known as winter, she attends the New England Center for Circus Arts where she studied static trapeze (think Cirque rather than Circus).
She an only child so has her mother to thank for her over active imagination and knack for storytelling. Over the years she’s written several short stories of the “naughty” nature. But had never envisioned herself as a writer. Just someone who enjoyed telling a steamy story from time to time.

Playing Dirty Coverfive gold starsReviewed by Jacqueline

Playing Dirty (Monkey Business Trio #1) by CL Parker

ARC received via NetGalley for an honest review

My first book from CL Parker and I loved it!! Although I was not happy when my iPad said 98% done and I knew the story was not going to end! A cliffhanger, hence the word “trio”. This book had me hooked from the beginning. Two strong characters, Shaw Matthews and Cassidy Whalens, sports agents fighting for the same account. Playing dirty in and out of the boardroom to land a deal that could make them known. A well written story with enough pent up chemistry between the two charactersyou could feel the lust pouring off of them. The dialogue between the two characters flowed so easily and at times had me laughing. The sex was angry but still had a sense of thoughtfulness in there. After all, in the alley, he did ask if she was afraid of heights before lifting her up! I loved everything about this book. The story, the characters, the writing and I am waiting PATIENTLY for the next book! Thank you CL Parker! Add me to your list of stalkers… followers!

Synopsis

Cassidy Whalen is as determined as they come. An Irish girl from a small fishing village, she worked hard to pursue her love of American sports and land her dream job as a sports agent with a major agency in LA. Unlike her colleague, Shaw Matthews, who believes you should work smarter, not harder. Although it’s assumed Shaw comes from money, he doesn’t. What he did inherit was a genetic gift of charisma, and he used it to his advantage, establishing connections at an early age that helped him climb the corporate ladder. He’s arrogant and used to getting his way with women, but he’s met his match with Cassidy, who’s out to prove that anything he can do, she can do better.

When a partnership position with Striker Sports Entertainment is up for grabs, Cassidy and Shaw are in a head-to-head competition to snag the most sought-after athlete in the country. Let the games begin! Playing their sexual strengths against the other’s weaknesses leads to an affair that takes the competition . . . to their offices, the co-ed bathroom, the boardroom, the supply closet, the elevator, and anywhere else they’re given the opportunity. But before long, they’re left wanting much more than to one-up each other in just the boardroom; they want to out-do each other in love, too.

C.L. Parker is a romance author who writes stories that sizzle. She’s a small-town girl with
big-city dreams and enough tenacity to see them come to fruition. Having been the outgoing sort all her life—which translates to “she just wouldn’t shut the hell up”—it’s no wonder Parker eventually turned to writing as a way to let her voice, and those of the people living inside her head, be heard. She loves hard, laughs until it hurts, and lives like there’s no tomorrow. In her world, everything truly does happen for a reason.
